Beth Meyer, Founder

Beth is dedicated to your dog’s enjoyment, health, and safety. Beth began training dogs professionally in 1983. In 1984, she founded Beth’s Dog Training to provide a loving in-residence dog manners program for people who wanted a well-trained dog but didn’t have the time to train their dog. In Dec 2001, Beth added an enclosed, warm water pool for dogs wanting pool work, pool play, health maintenance, or health optimization.

The needs of dogs and their loving owners are our inspiration. Beth’s Great Dane, Zollie, brought Beth to a puppy obedience class, leading Beth to become a professional dog trainer. In 2000, her Great Dane, Rocky, was healthy and fit until a sudden illness left him nearly immobile. Rocky and Beth experienced first-hand the benefits of a warm water pool after surgery. Beth was inspired to add a full-sized pool to Happy Tails Resort in 2001 and renamed the company Happy Tails Resort & Spa. In 2008, Beth earned Tellington T-Touch certification. It facilitates clearer communication and better connection. She has seen it help health and behavior in and out of the pool.

Beth’s dogs competed in conformation, obedience, and agility events with top rankings. Two of Beth’s dogs became stars – having participated in a local fashion show and a national television commercial.
